Do you have any gaming habits?

I used to play certain games when I was much much younger and I used to save games whenever possible and if I died I would shut off the game quickly and go back to try again. For some games this might make sense, but one of the games was Pokemon. I didn't like losing money or knowing I blacked out so I would restart the game every time. However, I later ended up having so much money I didn't know what to do with it and I realized it was just a waste of time saving every single time I saw a possible fight. Plus, if the trainer had multiple Pokemon I could get EXP off the ones I beat and I could have leveled faster even if I lost multiple times. Again, this was when I was very young.

I don't do that anymore but otherwise I can't think of any habits I have with games in general. What about you?

In most games, I'll talk to pretty much every possible NPC's. In RPGs in specific, I'll never run away from battles, I'll fight pretty much every battle I get into. I also like hoarding consumable items, and find myself rarely using them. Those are about the only habits I can think of off the top of my head.

When it comes to rpg's I am a completionist. I have to have every weapon and I have to do every quest. These are the RPG"s that I spent the most time on.  I spent over 800 hours playing Oblivion and over 450hrs playing Fallout 3 and I had 5 different play throughs on Dragon Age Orgins.

In most games where you can stock up money or points to buy weapons/gear/etc, I seldom use the credits and just build it up for the sake of building it up.

When it comes to RPGs, I tend to rush the game to see the storyline and see all the cut scenes. Yeah, it leads to battling bosses under level >_>

I know this is pretty standard, but if I play a story mode, I won't stop until I have completed it 100%. Even if it means resorting to cheats.

I do have a tick or ritual which is whenever I get a hold of a controller and warm up, especially for a fighting game, I'd immediately do Akuma's raging demon button combination on the controller upon picking it up. I don't really know why I do this, but I've done it ever since I figured it out way back when and I guess I am just amused by the combination since it's pretty unique compared to most other special moves.

1. Having a hard time choosing renegade actions in applicable games. I do it sometimes when someone is a real **** and deserves it. But even then, I'm staring at my options for at least 3 minutes before I finally do it.

2. I had a period of time where, if I played a female, I'd make her likeness to that of a female in my life that I'm closest to (when I had a GF I made it after her. When I didn't, I made it after my best female friend).

3. When facing overwhelming odds and thinking I'll die, I start thrashtalking to the TV, facing 'danger' more than usual and play better than usual subconciously.

4. I always, if possible, save the game before I quit playing that session. Even if the last thing that happened was an autosave, I still save the game 0,5 seconds later again.

5. I always play the hardest difficulty setting even if I sometimes don't like the difficulty.

6. I stack my games according to genre. If anything isn't in the right spot I can't help but place it where it belongs.

7. I can't not do sidequests or something like that. I have to do them. Even though I don't like them at times, I must do them.

8. I replay all my games every ~1-3 years. All of them. I do not own a game that I haven't played in the past 3 years.
