After you unbox your shiny new console, do you keep or throw away the box it came in?

I usually keep the boxes since there is a chance the console breaks, and I need to return it. They are also fun to collect, and look at the box art.

The handhelds I keep cuz they’re small, but for consoles, I toss them after a certain amount of time. Mostly just in case for them being faulty, and I might have to return it.

I've always kept my boxes starting with PS3, I even have all the boxes to my GBA games. Never know when you might need them for resale vaule.

I feel in the future some old console boxes in good condition will be bought by some game console collectors. They maybe willing to pay some money like $5 to $20 for the box, console manuals, and boxes inside the big console box.

I tend to keep most of the boxes that contained bought hardware.
Not only in case I need to return it if it breaks, it allows easier transport.

The problem with keeping some of these old games CIB for reselling later, is that after a certain time period, more and more people have CIB versions of things, so don’t use that as an investment.

Sell it while it’s high, because you’ll never know when someone’s going to find a shipping crate in Mexico and flood eBay with it. Heard that exact story happen several times.

Well, I have some PC games boxes that I got laying around still. If that helps to answer.

Always. You never know when you might need it especially if it needs to be sent back for repairs or a replacement

Knock on wood, but I never had a console go bad on me that wasn't from wear and tear.

I think if you buy many consoles, the chance of getting a broken console is more likely.

There is always a chance the store staff accidentally drop the console on thr hard floor.

PS3 had simliar issues but not so heavily.

I think the PS4 also had problems shortly after launch.

I remember reading blog posts about the PS4 where some PS4s were intentionally damaged by angry factory workers who felt they were being mistreated.
