I usually like to have my bedroom door locked from the inside whenever I'm sleeping but it's something my parents didn't like at all. My father said what if something was happening and I didn't hear it to wake up and my door is locked from the inside, it's going to make it difficult to get me out.

I don't have to lock my bedroom door when I'm sleep if the main house door is locked. I can have the door closed but not locked.

I have my bedroom door locked. I feel if there is a criminal who enter my home, and try to open my door, I have a few extra seconds to call the police with my phone, and climb out of my window, and escape.

I also have some valuables , and money in my room, so I hope robbers will skip my room if it is locked, and they are too lazy or weak to break my door.

No, i just hope people have the common courtesy to not come in while im sleeping.

I can't say that I sleep with my bedroom door locked. For the longest time, I got used to leaving my door open slightly so our family cat, Smokey could get in and out during the night as she needed. She passed away in July 2022 but it is still a habit for me to leave the door open slightly.

You wouldn't have to worry about that happening if you're living alone. Apart from my little girl, we are the only ones in the house. I don't lock my room incase she wants to come in.
