Yes, I notice many popular big blogs I go on like http://techcrunch.com/ tend to load kind of slow because they use too many images, flash, animation, HTML5, plug-ins, CSS, bookmarking widgets, forms, counters, widgets, and ,Java, scripts, and javascript compared to sites which are mostly have video like YouTube where the site loads pretty fast because it has a simple design which loads fast, so the video can load faster.
Indeed, or poor web design where the web designer has 20 widgets, plug-ins, and images on a single page when None or only a few plug-ins are needed.
I miss the days when people just post a few pictures, and used text rather then making their website overly social, and plug-n/widget rich with over 10 social bookmarking plug-ins, and tools which few people uses.
