I notice there is a trend of people using Twitter, Friendfeed and Tumblr.com which are micro blogs which are missing some features of a full featured blogging software like Wordpress, Blogspot, Live Journal or Xang like the option of making categories, adding plug-ins, and pages to a blog.
I prefer full featured blogs like Wordpress since I feel they offer more options, and feel better organized compared to Twitter, Friend Feed, Tumblr. Though, Tumblr is simple to use, but it does not feel as customizable as Wordpress and Blogspot.
I think the main reason Twitter, Friendfeed, Tumblr, and micro-blogs are so popular is because they are easy to use, and easier to write for since anyone can write a 200 character tweet, but it is much harder to write a long blog post about an interesting topic.
Plus, Twitter, Friendfeed, Tumblr, other micro-blogs are more about instant posts rather then slowly writing quality content with a interesting topics, good grammer, and sentance structure.
I mostly don't read a lot of Twetts because some are so weird and dull like "Emo. twetts", advertisng, talking about their lunch, etc.
But, twitter is a great place for keeping up with your favourite band, singers, and actors.
