If I'm playing a role playing game, real time strategy, First person shooter, racing, or arcade game I prefer my PC games to be in full screen mode.
But, for games like minesweeper, solitaire, and slow moving games a Window would be nicer since I can chat with friends on Facebook or MSN while I play a quick game of Solitaire.
I usually play my RPGs that I know will keep my attention in full-screen, it looks better for me. However whenever I play an MMO I play windows, so I can chat with friends.
All the games i play on my laptop are full screen. I have tried in window mode, but it just doesn't suit me and I end up putting it back to full screen.
I usually game in full screen. By gaming in a window it allows me to become distracted by the tons of shortcut icons I have on my desktop, any popup balloons, notifications, instant messages. I also have a 25.5" widescreen high definition monitor with HDMI so I want to play games in their full non-windowed glory.
I like playing the games in Fullscreen, it gives a stronger feeling of being involved and inside the game! Yes, like someone said back here it is true that when you're in windowed mode you can actually alt+tab to chat with people but remember that when in full-screen mode you can use Alt+Enter to change for Window mode and then answer chats! Yes, it's another command but hey.. atleast you don't get distracted by Icons and the game feels alot more interesting when it occupies the full screen, wouldn't you agree?
The game will usually run better in windowed mode, so I choose that if its an option. Plus, every so often I might be waiting for a round to end or something, and I want to do something else on my computer, so windowed mode facilitates that.
Yeah it's windowed mode for me. Whether it's so that the game runs better, or I can chat in the background; or if I'm using Ventrilo or something, so that I can see who's talking, it just suits me better. And I try not to be too involved in the game, so that doesn't bother me either.
For RTS games though, I have to go full screen though. It just feels awkward in windowed
I usually go full-screen especially for mmorpg because if its on a window mode, the UI or interface will clutter my screen. If it's a simple game like plants vs zombies then I prefer window mode but my computer screen is more than 20" so it really does not matter much if its windowed or not.
I prefer to play in windowed mode because i have quite a few tabs open ant i also have msn/skype open , so when someone messages me i can see that they have done so and i can switch over to the messages and see what people have said to me
Actually it depends. If it's a game where details are crucial to the progress of the game, such as Devil May Cry where you need to spot secret doors and stuff then full screen would be better. But if it's a game like Pro Evolution Soccer, I think windowed mode for me is just fine
Definitely full screen for me. I feel that playing a game in full screen immerses you into the environment or setting of that game better. In addition, it sets the mood right because you're free from any potential distractions when playing in full screen.
If i have the choice i would always play my games on windowed mode so i can do other things at the same time such as go on aim and talk to my friends lol . Or else my girlfriend gets mad if i ignore her >.>...
I prefer them to be running in a full-screen mode but if I am using another software of I am browsing the Internet at the same time, I will run the game in window mode as it is easier for me to switch between the windows.
Usually full-screen but as the thread creator says, for games like Solitaire, Poker, Blackjack, minesweeper(I still play it ).... I prefer windowed mode. But for games like AoE, WoW, Infamous and CoD I prefer full-screen because I like to be fully involved in it and no amount of pings on fb or skype can make me press alt+tab
