I like using a mouse because I can easily adjust the sensitivity, mouse resolution, pointer speed, pointer icon, and scroll wheel speed for a mouse to improve my mouse movement when drawing, or using a photo editor.

I feel a stylus is too basic for me because there are fewer settings for it.

Never really used a stylus, but I would think that be better with a touch screen/pad.

Yes, I think for touchscreens, a stylus maybe better for fast drawing. But, a mouse can be used to slowly edit individual pixels in a picture when you zoom in the picture to see the individual pixels.

There are some people who draw very detailed pictures by drawing individual pixels in MS Paint and other drawing programs.

I don't really do photo editing or drawing but I would much prefer to use a stylus for it. I feel like it would allow me to be more precise than I can with a mouse.

Well, a mouse is the preferable option for me.
I am not very good at drawing ....so.....

Never used a stylus for photo editing, only mouse. But I think stylus is great and can do more professional work.

I agree a stylus can be good for more professional work like painting, and may make using the eraser easier.
