When it comes to a higher ticket purchase do you typically read reviews to help determine if you should buy the item or not?

I usually read the user reviews for products I buy on Amazon, Bestbuy, and other online stores. I sometimes watch YouTube reviews and read blog reviews of products.

Not normally, no.

First of all, my husband and I normally end up seeing movies that the critics hate. The movies that the critics absolutely love are the movies that nobody has ever heard of.

Second of all, I don't want to read any spoilers on accident.

Looks like Sharon meant price tags for tickets, if I'm reading it right ^^;

But oh yeah, if it costs a lot of money, I throughly review it.

Nope, I don't see the point of reviews. Everyone has different tastes so just because someone didn't like something doesn't mean other won't like it too. I'd rather just go into whatever and form my own opinion of it.

If I see a 4 star review on Amazon, I’ll see what the complaints were. If it’s for major electronics, I’ll look at YouTube reviews and see what features it has, and if I care for them.

Also in regards to film and music critics, that’s because they have different tastes than the average person. Part of that is that it’s their hobby/job, so they watch/listen to more films/albums than the average person. So when you watch significantly more films, or listen to more albums, what’s innovative and such will be cliche to a critic because they’ve seen it several times already.

If its electronic related, I will definitely watch a quick review on YouTube but will still make my own mind up.

I go with brands I trust and go with my own intuition. Sometimes I read reviews for red flags but most of the time there isn't.

I don't take what a company has on their own website about a particular product. They can be quite biased & leave out any negative comments. That's where forums as well as independent blogs come in. Honest reviews. The best is if they are not sponsored so you know they wouldn't try to hype up a product.
But to answer, yes, sometimes I do read the reviews but I try not to. I also take them with a grain of salt.

I feel the amazon and the similar other sites have decent reviews on the products. I make sure to check those reviews and see if things are good on that side. Because a lot of times the reviews save you from the bad seller.

I do because it can help avoid buying a crappy product that you then have to return. It's important not to get disheartened by reading all the bad reviews though. Some people either don't use something properly or just got unlucky with their item.

Yes, I do read and compare reviews.
It helps me make a good decision on what I'm about to purchase if it's worth it or not.

Yes, reviews are important. If you don't read them, you always be deceived into buying low standard items.
