I have a little safe vault which I save my money at home. I don't really have strong confidence in our banking sector because there are few banks that have folded up without the customers receiving their money back. It's why I save a decent portion of my funds at home.

I have a Credit Union too, and having it in a Credit Union is better because the US government can't take your money out of it at times of need. Interest rates are better too.

Nope, it is more focused towards its members than what the banks do.
That sounds interesting. Unfortunately, we don't have anything of sort here. Our banks here are leaches.

Must be nice, they keep springing up in my town.
It's why most young people here now prefer to have their money converted to sable coin like USDT and keep it in their wallets. We all hate our banking system.

I save some money at home, so I can still buy food, and pay for other goods and services even if my bank account got frozen or seized by the government for some reason, or I can't access my money in my bank for some reason like an earthquake broke my bank's online banking service and local bank branches.
I don't really see that as saving money at home. It's money kept for daily running of the household.

My hubby and I have money stored away at the bank......we don't have any laying around at home.
If our banks were that reliable, I wouldn't be keeping some sort of slush fund saved at home.

I have a box with a lock on it, and I lock my room's door when I am not in my room.
That should have it well secured from breaking and entering.
