Yes, when I make or post on a post exchange topics I usually check the "Enable email notification of replies?". I subscribe to IGN newsletter by E-mail.

I never use this option. I never use my email, so no way I'm going to catch a notification. If I forget to check a topic, or something that interests me; then must not have been important enough to me.

This is my reason as well. All my news articles are in one place like my E-mail, so I don't have to visit a dozen sites to get informed.

I use the E-mail notifications for Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Calenders, bill payment due dates, library books almost due, and other important events like "School close due to snow" where not being informed means "being stuck, or having to pay late fees and interest espiecally for credit cards and bills", or collect advertisement money from people who bought ad-space on my websites. So far, I haven't forgotten to pay a bill or returned a library book in many years.
