Yes, when I make or post on a post exchange topics I usually check the "Enable email notification of replies?". I subscribe to IGN newsletter by E-mail.

As always, I often do that in this forum and others, and on Twitter, Youtube and world news websites. This way
I may not have to miss out on what's happening in the past few days.

This is my reason as well. All my news articles are in one place like my E-mail, so I don't have to visit a dozen sites to get informed.

I only use this option if I made a support topic somewhere were I am in dire need of help (like IPB support forums).

I use the E-mail notifications for Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Calenders, bill payment due dates, library books almost due, and other important events like "School close due to snow" where not being informed means "being stuck, or having to pay late fees and interest espiecally for credit cards and bills", or collect advertisement money from people who bought ad-space on my websites. So far, I haven't forgotten to pay a bill or returned a library book in many years.
