Yes, I think intenet computing also called cloud computing is bigger then desktop domputing for most people. Mainly because a lot of people spend hours on Facebook, Google, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, online gaming, blogs, forums, online apps and a ton of other websites and online services vs. stuff they regularly do on their computer like MS Word.
I agree internet apps like Google Drive, DropBox, Netflix, YouTube, etc are very helpful for mobile devices, or computers with very little storage space like older Netbooks, or the Google Chromebook where most devices have a limited amount of space under 16GB or less.
I believe a lot of people are using both at the same time, so if their PC, flash drive, or everything they own gets broken/stolen, they can quickly buy or use another PC to download their files from a website.
More people these days also have multiple internet connections from their cell phones, Tablets, or cellular modem which run off of the cellular company internet, and they also have a home internet which uses phone lines, Cable, other forms of wired internet, or Satalite.
But, I feel more people in poor places will be more likely to use internet programs at the library with high speed internet because a lot of internet programs are free, or cost very little to use compoared to buying some full fledge programs which can cost hundreds of dollars to use offline, and need a very powerful PC which also can cost hundreds.
