Yes, I think Windows, Mac OS X, and other paid operating systems like the OS on the PS3, Wii, 360, and other electronics are slowly dying because people are learning more about free and open source operating systems for their computers, servers, phones, and other electronics.
If you include web hosting servers, tablets, smartphones, cameras, newer game consoles like Ouya, Steambox, Gamestick, Nvidia Shield, and settop boxes like Roku and Boxxee as computers, free operating systems like Linux, Android, Ubuntu, etc are rising faster then paid operating systems which are expensive, and more restrictive because you need to pay for each individual computer license eventhough you bought the installer disc/file.
