The Intel Atom which is a mobile CPU found on many Windows XP-8 Netbooks, Nettops, and Windows 8 Tablets are pretty popular with people who only need a cheap small mobile computer for doing office and school work, watching videos, listening to music, casual gaming like minesweeper, and Solitaire, and other non-intensive daily tasks.
I think Ubuntu Smartphones and Tablet can make some Ubuntu and Linux users use their Smartphone as a Traditional PC since when Ubuntu mobile is docked with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, you can use it like a Desktop PC.

Windows 8 RT also uses Mobile CPU like the Nvidia Tegra 3 found on many tablets, and smartphones. I think companies like Dell, HP, and Samsung would make cheaper $150-200 desktops which run on Windows RT which cost less, and also have a desktop user interface along with the Modern Start Screen Touch interface.
I read
Apple is moving to ARM/Mobile CPU in future computersinstead of using Intel desktop CPU.
I think many people will be switching to mobile CPU, and parts on their next PC, Laptop, or tablet because mobile parts are cheaper, don't need cooling fans in many cases, better power savings, and battery life, and the overall cost of buying and maintaining computers which uses mobile parts is very low like the Raspberry Pi which only cost $35 for the computer, and uses as much electricity as an older Smartphone.
Most people like buying cheaply priced computers which is one of the reasons cheap computer devices like the Amazon Kindle Fire, Google Nexus 7, and iPad Mini sold out quickly when released sometimes in a few hours or less.
