May be the brightness of the computer is too bright if the light theme, hurts our eyes.....wouldn't you agree?

I prefer dark themes because I like dark colors . I also like games with dark levels like racing games with a night racing track level, or action games with a cave level, so games may make me like dark themes.
I keep seeing a bunch of people say this, maybe their eyes are more sensitive than mine. I just turn the brightness down at night.

For me, it depends on the forum and it's niche`. Also, there are going to be some people that prefer light themes and some that prefer dark themes.

I feel dark forum themes maybe more popular with Batman, Lord of the Rings and Spiderman forums. But, dark themes may not be as suitable for buisness related forums like a forum related to "finding a job, and preparing a resume" since most job related sites like LinkedIN and Craigslist's job search section have a light theme. A lot of big company websites like Microsoft, Google, Newegg and store sites also have a light theme.

to you both, even if I do turn the brightness down, I'm still staring at a white screen which that white just irritates my eyes.

Wow. I never expected that and I usually feel because of dark themes, we increase the screen brightness a lot

I don't like dark themes, I always use light themes.

I think dark themes are popular because black is a popular color, and some colors like red, and blue can be difficult to read in the dark or bright room for some people.
