Do you think most social websites and media sharing sites are less community oriented these days?

Yes, Social networking seems less community oriented then a few years a go.

I feel these days too many people are trying to make their videos on Youtube too proffessional with special effects, weird camera angles, and background music, Snazzy intros, and Outros. It seems fewer people are making videos just to connect with their viewers and people with similar interest.

Facebook seems to be turning into a resume site which people use to advertise themselves instead of meeting new people with similar interest to chat about stuff.

Twitter just have a lot of links to the persons sites in most cases instead of using it as a way to connect with people.

depends on how you view it, twitter is nothing more then what is the progress of this and this is what I am doing. facebook is half and half what you say with it being a place for business and a place for meeting up with friends.

I find forums to be more community oriented. Big Blogs these days have too many sponsored/ads posts which were paid for by a company instead of trying to connect more with their readers. Plus, some people put tons of banner ads on their blogs which make it look really bad since most of the ads are animated or uses bright distracting colors.

Justin Bieber used Youtube to make himself popular. He is also using Twitter to update his fans on his life. He used Social networks a long with his looks, personality, and voice to become a millionaire at a young age.

I hope this does not cause more people to use Youtube as a audition and forget about the community and helping others by making entertaining videos!
