Yes, I notice Google Chrome, Firefox are set to English US by default for me, so I leave it that way since I'm too lazy to change the spell check to Canadian English spelling. Plus, I gotten use to typing in American spelling since words are usually shorter by one letter.
 
hard to say, but I need spell check since I'm not a very good speller.
 
Indeed, I think MS Word, and most word processors are set to English-US, so it thinks British and Canadian English spelling like the word "colour" instead of color which is US is incorrect.

It would be convenient if computers or software can automatically recognize where a computer is located by seeing where you are getting your internet connection, so it can set the spelling to the correct spelling type.
