I can imagine it sometimes being frustrating for stay at home moms and dads to ask their husband and wife for money espiecially if they are incredibly cheap amd keeps track of the bank account and your spending habits a lot, and you don't want to hurt their feelings by saying "you never give me enough to spend to buy stuff I want."

I think stay at home moms or dads who are not employed, but do tasks like errands, picking up the kids from school, choirs, and cleaning the house might be more interested in making cash online as a part time job while her husband goes to work because of the flexibility when it comes to running a for-profit website, forum, blogs, ebay store, Amazon Marketplace store. You won't earn a lot in the beginning, but with luck, determination, and knowledge you might earn more in the future.

Plus, internet buisnesses usually are low cost in most cases since webhosting and domain costs only 60 dollars or not a lot if you use online store services like Cafepress, Craigslists, Ebay store, or Amazon Marketplace.

Although, I also read stories of people who hated their real job, so they were very determined to earn enough (100,000 USD a year or more online)and achieved their goal, so they can quit their low paying job which is borring and frustrating.

That's just it though, working at home is a job, whether you are raising kids, or earning a paycheck. I think it might be easier for some in terms of travel expenses, and the like, but I don't think that it would be any easier responsibility wise. I think that if anything, it might make things harder for you since some bosses think that just because they don't have a personal life, and opt to dive head first into their work, that the same is also true of their employees, and so, if they know that you work from home then they may be more likely to call on you more often than if you were working at the office.

Not to mention, when you have kids, that makes things that much harder because not only do you have to keep an eye on your work, you also have to keep an eye on your kids as well.. and so sometimes it is necessary to leave the house just to get away from that environment.

sitting home all day working on the computer sounds nice but I wouldn't want to do it as I hear getting a business started via internet is hard. And if you got kids then working from a computer is the last thing you need or want.

I think getting any sort of buisness is hard if you do not have the knowledge, money, or time. Though, you just need 60 dollars for webhosting and domain in most cases unlike renting space for a real shop.

The promotional and building credibility is the hardest.

I guest if you have a bunch of old un-opened Super nintendos, Nintendos, Ataris in your closet you can open up an Ebay store and sell them for a small fortune to game consoles collecters.

the chances of someone having that in his/her closet is even less then the chances of winning a million dollars from a lotto ticket. though I wish I did this >_

I agree the chances of someone having un-opened game consoles are slim, though I think for the Wii and Gamecubes there might be some collectors who won't open their Wiis or Gamecube special edition consoles since now it is a known fact you can earn a small fortune by collecting certain un-opened gaming collectables.

I find if you have a website with a lot of traffic and is in a profitable category like "Medicine, Computer Science, Making Money, Lawsuits, etc" you can make good money from selling text links and Adsense.
