Yes, I kind of feel the most viewed, and highest rated section is kind of unfair for new members on Youtube since when you visit the different sections like "Science and Technology" on Youtube, and other similar video websites they show the top 5 pages of the most viewed videos related to that section.

If you are not a Youtube partner, it would be very hard to get a high view count on Youtube vs a Youtube partner or someone who has a very popular website or blog used for promoting their videos and channel.

Plus, Youtube mostly promotes Youtube partners these days to their frontpage, and ad space, so YT partners has a bit of an unfair advantage.

It will be more fair if youtube just lists the "most recent" videos for a section and if people want to see the most viewed videos for a section they have to click a link to view the "most viewed" videos.

Everytime, I visit the most viewed section on Youtube. I can probably guest which Youtube partners like "Shane Dawson" will be on the 1st or 2nd page of most viewed.
