These days the Wii, 360, and PS3 are capable of downloading games from the net when you buy them with points, or a credit card.

But, do you think companies or individuals will make free games for the Wii, 360, and PS3?

I notice the handheld consoles like the DS already have people make homebrew games for it which are free and are played through a special DS cartridge with an SD slot.

I think there are other ways to make money with game instead of charging a fee for a disks. The game company can just sell items like weapons for a game for a small price like $1-5 for each sword, etc like Second llife.

Maybe they`ll make free ones. Not that lıkely for consoles lıke those though.

I guest the only easier way to make free games for the console is to take advantage of flash, and make your game work well with the Wiimote and other types of controller when played through a web browser like Opera for the Wii.

At some point there might be free games on current gen consoles. Sony & Nintendo are most likely candidates for such a thing though. Microsoft is all about the closed in system.

I think it will be a good idea to make more games free, and charge money for virtual items, new levels, new characters, music, and other virtual stuff since it might make more people interested in playing the game since they don't have to save up 60 bucks for a Game Disc.

There will also be fewer negative reviews since people can get really mad when they wasted 60 bucks on a crappy game disc.

Now that is a nice idea you got there.
