Yes, I find Windows harder to use than Ubuntu Linux and Linux Mint since I notice sometimes Windows Update breaks Windows, Windows Updates failed to work, a virus, or other software sometimes make Windows failed to start-up because the Antivirus deleted a Windows file.

There is also the need for system utility software like disk defrag, registry cleaner, and disk cleanup to keep Windows from slowing down while Linux rarely needs maintenance except installing updates when you get a message to install them.

In my experience, Ubuntu Linux and Linux Mint seems easier once you get used to it. Plus, software like Firefox, and Google Chrome seem to run faster, and crash less in Linux than Windows.

Not really, I think it all depends on what distro you choose. I think a PC or Mac user would be able to use Linux just as long as they pick a distro that is best suited for them and has the most familiar UI. There are a number of tools available that will help a user choose the distro that is best for them based on what their previous o/s was and their answers to questions regarding what they'd want in an o/s.

I know that many linux distros have a familiar ui to Windows, and even Mac since quite a few features and design elements were taken from Linux and used for OS X, but I liked the distros based on KDE more than the ones based on Gnome because it was what seemed the most familiar. This was why I've always preferred Knoppix to Suse and other distros, and it was why I always went with Knoppix when I was trying to retrieve my files from a failing hdd or a corrupted Windows installation, before I had to format or replace the hdd.

Linux is great for using to retreive files from a hard drive which can't boot into Windows. It is kind of annoying that Windows Vista, 7, and 8 still does not make it easy for people to retreive files with the Windows install disc like Knoppix which can run off a CD to copy files, and use full feature programs like web browsers, and Word Processors from the CD.
