I notice some blogs occassionally make Templates with "car, electronics, and Soda company brand logo themes" drawn onto its website template, so there are no banner ads or pop-ups, but the blog is still making cash from advertising.
Plus, the paid advertising links are also found on the left and top sidebars along with the regular links which make fewer banners on the site.
It would be interesting if Coca Cola, Pepsi, and other big brands paid people to use a Coca Cola, or Pepsi themed template on their Blog, Website, or Forum.
