I think the Alexa and Google Toolbar can be useful since they give useful statistics about websites, and allow people to use the search box built-in to it. Otherwise, I don't use toolbars most of the time.

Some toolbars these days made by AVG, Comodo, Yahoo, Google, and other trusted companies have security features to block pop-ups and scan websites for viruses or give warnings of fishy websites which mission is to scam uninformed visitors.

I use google mostly. But something happen to my firefox language translator and had to get something else and I ended up with fox lingo toolbar which seems good.

I do have BHOs that are on my browser, but they come with the software. For example, when I used McAfee, it did come with Site Advisor, and so, I used that with Firefox and IE.But as for actively downloading, or choosing to install a search bar.. no..

Same, for me. I notice that toolbars are not really needed since all browsers come with a search bar, pop-up blocker which is good enough for most people.

I have Stumbleupon, AddThis, Yahoo and Digg installed, but toolbars and search boxes can be useful if you prefer not to visit the sites directly, it's just a few clicks from the top of the web browser.

Instead of typing in Google's search address, just type a search term in the search box. To login to Yahoo mail, click the mail button and go from there. See, toolbars does have some advantages.

This reminds me some toolbar tells you the time, weather, and headlines, so you can disable all your widgets, clocks, and other software which can save space on your system tray, and desktop. like Fox clock https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1117

Google and mcafee where automatically on my computer so I have those. But mcafee I will not have forever becuase it expires in a month and then I will switch to avg. I also really want a bing toolbar but I don't know if they have one.

I use mypoints toolbar which gives me 75 points per month which I can redeem for gift cards when I get enough points.
