They understand the importance of using a computer and how it improve people's daily life, but are too used to watching TV and reading newspapers sort of how I'm reluctant to use a cell phone to browse the web, or do anything but talking on the phone because of the small screen and keypad.
I think the main reason many older people do not like using computers because they are too used to their 20-30 inch TV screens and their simple remotes. The keyboard has too many buttons for people to learn.
luckily my parents love the computer (I got them hooked on some crappy (very crappy) computer that lasted less then a year and when that went they immediately bought a new one heh) so they have no problems with using one but it means less computer time for me on some days >_
Both my parents live on the computer. I think they are on it more than I am.
Of course, my mom only uses hers for work, but my dad does facebook, twitter, and all that other crap. He learned how to use his web cam last night, too. XD
