Spyro is only in Skylanders and he looks awful. They completely ruined the character with it. Though I'd be down for another Spyro game where you have to get eggs and what not.
I've never had the pleasure of playing a Spyro game before, but from the videos I've seen, I think I would have loved them. I do have the Wii U Skylanders game, and it's actually pretty fun- but it's definitely not a Spyro game.
As a kid I didn't play much Spyro. I own Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (PSP download)now and it's pretty fun. However if they kept making these titles the exact same way..I can see why Spyro ended up as a washup in Skylanders in the end. For a game or two the concept is fun and very hidden item heavy. But after a while the levels kind of become a chore and it looses it's spark for me. It's fun, but It doesn't hold my attention long. That being said, yes I do miss REAL Spyro titles, but If one of those games released nowadays for the ps3/ps4..no one would buy it because it wouldn't have online play or guns. It'd be a perfect title for a Nintendo Console but at the same time I don't think it'd work.
My opinion though, I could be totally wrong. These things are best left to trial and error.
I would always play Spyro as a kid. ^^ It's too bad he got into the hands of the developers of Skylanders, now he looks like a mental disabled drunken lizard-thing.Skylanders really isnt a Spyro game, they only put him and Cynder in there to up sales of the first game.Spyro was really only treated as every other character-nothing special. So don't let the title "Spyro's Adventure" fool you. It's quite irritating when video game companies do this -_-
Although the games were simple in their objective or packed with plenty of mini-games they had some interesting music and sometimes interesting level names and enemies each with their own personality. The Spyro games were obviously made for a younger audience but I wouldn't mind if there was one more new Playstation like Spyro game to bring it back to its roots. I also wouldn't mind if more platformers had enemies with personality and percussion heavy music.
