Okay, maybe I should have gone and asked if anyone DID want Microsoft to buy them since I'm guessing most people here would rather have had games like Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day on later Nintendo consoles, right?
It's actually rather depressing looking back and thinking about what could have been during the Gamecube and Wii era if Rare were still making games for Nintendo. Imagine a Donkey Kong Country 4 on the Gamecube or Wii with Kremlings, K Rool, more animal buddies, etc. Would have possibly been even better than Returns was, don't you think?
A Banjo Kazooie sequel on Wii would have really been awesome as well since it would have provided good old Mario 64 style 3D platforming/collecathon gameplay for those people not wanting the linear style of the Mario Galaxy series. Heck, the duo could have been in Brawl!
And I think the Gamecube era would be done a lot better with Perfect Dark or a new GoldenEye like James Bond game as a direct Nintendo sponsored competitor to Call of Duty and Halo.
What do you think? Do you wish Rare were still making games for Nintendo?
