I upgraded an older computer's onboard Intel Video card to a Nvidia Geforce GT 620, and I notice  Firefox seem to load websites faster because Firefox now uses Video card/GPU acceleration. Now big websites don't freeze as much when loading on my slower computer. I also notice my computer freezes less when using Firefox.

I think with newer Windows 8 computers which already come with 4GB or more RAM in most cases, upgrading the video card could be a better way to improve performance while gaming, web browsing, and doing other video intensive tasks.

I saw a video that says Windows 8 uses the video card to accelerate text, images, and shapes on the screen for faster performance.
