They just copied the Wii U's mistake by naming the Scorpio project Xbox One X.

Between Xbox One S and Xbox One X.... my heart goes out to all retail gamer employees.

It's even worse than Nintendo because the abbreviation of Xbox One X is literally XBOX. Rip Microsoft.

Well, that XOX for them.

Anyway I agree, this is going to bring so many headaches trying to explain to the kind of customer that is not in tune with the gaming news and consoles.

I don't think it will be as bad as the Wii U simply because of Microsoft's messaging and advertising. You gotta remember that people were confused about what the Wii U was right after the reveal. Nobody is confused about the One X. We all know it's a powerhouse console and I imagine Microsoft is gonna advertise that heavily. Nintendo forgot to even advertise the Wii U.

parents will be confused when they go to buy it.

Shoot, more than anyone else my heart goes out to all the kids out there who will have to face moderate disappointment on Christmas day, when they open their gifts in excitement and joy only to have their teeny tiny hearts crushed upon finding that their parents had gotten them a slightly inferior console.

It was a needless name change in my opinion. Scorpio sounded like a cool name, and now they just sound like the next step they're heading for is the xXbox One Xx.

Well I agree. X box one X does sound a little bit ridiculous. Is there a hidden meaning behind the looped name? I don't know. But I do know that it definitely doesn't sound awesome. And everybody here is like : "Really? You think you can be more creative than that?" But I really think there's some sort of hidden meaning or message in the name and that there's a reason why it's a loop.

I said it in another thread. I agree with this sentiment. Microsoft seems to be heading down the same path Nintendo was on a couple years ago. Three different models on the market. So what's the abbreviation for this? XBoneX? I don't really like the name XBox One X. It's way too clunky and not smooth.
