Changing the Date & Time settings to that certain (Why would you set it to that) date will disable your apple device. And good luck trying to get it to restart: Connecting the disabled phone to your computer and trying to reboot it via iTunes won't work.

Tech website 9to5mac posted a video demonstrating the date bug, which appears to only affect Apple devices with 64-bit processors — meaning iPhone 5S, iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and the sixth-generation iPod Touch, or newer models of those devices.

Apple sucks then for that big error problem. They should release new software update and make users happy. Yet again if there phone is reset and fucked up then they probably buy another one and apple gets richer as always

From my understanding, someone found out this glitch, and then decided to try and trick people into doing it by saying if you did your phone would show a bunch of retro apple stuff on it, calling it an "Easter Egg" left by Apple. Obviously this was not true, but if you see it on the internet it must be, so people did it, leaving them with an expensive paper weight.

It's weird that the date in iOS has the year 1970 in iOS operating system since Apple's iOS did not even exist in 1970s. iOS was released 8 years ago in 2007 according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS .

I think iOS should delete years which are older than 2016 because time travel does not exist, so there is not a real need to set the date to 2015, 2014, and older years.

The date is there (and so special) because it is the start of Unix time, which iOS and many other OS's are based off of. This article explains it a little more if you are interested.

You seem pretty sure about that...

There are no news stories or credible people saying time travel exist. It would be hard to keep a time travel machine a secret since people will find out when the company which created the time travel machine have employees who tell their family, friends, and the news.

you should watch the anime Stines;gate at sometime, good anime on time travel.

Not if they were killed or held hostage or brainwashed...

Also, there are a few people out there claiming that they created time machines that the government stole from them, but they have to face the public skepticism and are usually regarded as crazy.
