Survive yes, but together. For the better but mostly for the worse. Klei Entertainment today makes available a prototype first trailer of the multiplayer mode of their survival game, Don't Starve. The opportunity to unveil the "ghost" system.

When a player is killed by another, it is raised as a spirit, and can at leisure haunt certain objects. It is imperative to find an effigy of meat to resurrect. Anxious to avoid abusive behavior, the development teams are currently working on ways to avoid the "griefing" by ghosts. These can indeed destroy several of the buildings of other players. Acts likely to cause some drift behavior. In this regard, Seth Rosen at Klei said:

"It's important for us to bear in mind that, even though we don't want to encourage people to play like this, we do want to allow for it," Rosen wrote. "It shouldn't be appealing or easy, but it should be possible. Functionally, this means making the bad effects of haunting into something you're surprised by, not something you're expecting."

The output of this extension is entitled Don't Starve Together and has been confirmed for PC, Mac and Linux, but not yet on PlayStation 4. Good news because it will be free of charge to all owners of the game, but will cost an extra $5 for new purchases of the full game.

soooo, what is this exactly?

Oh god, you never played Don't Starve?

Its the most fun sandbox survival game out there. During the day you have to gather resources and food, while at night you have to remain close to a light source. It can be a torch or a campfire. If you are in the dark, you die.

You can also die through a lot of other ways, like burning in a fire, getting attacked by wild animals, losing your sanity, dying from the cold in winter, and of course, starving.

That's the simplest way I can explain it, but its a lot more than this. All I can say is you're missing out by not playing it. And its gonna get even better with the multiplayer.
