Has anyone else been playing the new DotA client, DotA2 Reborn? It's got custom game support, so you can play your favourites from WarCraft 3 again, in a brand new environment. Sadly, as it only came out today, theres a huge amount of bugs at the moment, but it is only a beta.
I'm really excited about Reborn tbh. Valve has done an impressive job, making the UI sleek and minimal. I'm in love with it. Even the map is a little altered in the new beta. And custom games are the best thing ever! I can finally play Warlock and TD games again with my friends!
Wow, I think it's amazing that Valve has implemented this for Dota. Even though I am a League player, and I've avoided Dota, this is intriguing enough for me to reinstall Dota. Custom maps is just too good, it creates endless opportunities for cool custom gamemodes and even custom heroes! This is a genius way to get the community involved and it's also a fantastic way for the community to be immersed in the overall development and success of Dota.
If it is anything like the custom game system that was in place for WC3 and WC3 The Frozen Throne then I will be super happy. There were so many different games to come out of that custom game system that were awesome to play. Off the top of my head I can think of footman wars, Enfo's, so many different TD games, and many others. I will be super excited if it is anything close to that.
I've been playing since it launched. I don't even mind the bugs that much. My biggest problem with it though, is that if the host has bad internet, everyone has lag problems. This has the potential to add another level of toxicity to games since it would bring back the "Host, lag, tunnel me pls!" nonsense. Hopefully Valve will find a way to fix it.
