The Year of Luigi continues with Dr. Luigi, an all-new title headed to the Wii U eShop on December 31. Europe will have to wait a bit longer, as Dr. Luigi won't arrive there until January 15, 2014.

Dr. Luigi will be available for $14.99 and will play similarly to the classic Dr. Mario, but Luigi will drop L-shaped capsules. Various modes will be available, including online play, a classic mode similar to Dr. Mario, and a new Virus Buster mode, which lets you play using the stylus and Wii U GamePad.

Nintendo will also release a new Luigi statue on Club Nintendo fans to celebrate the Year of Luigi, which president Satoru Iwata says will continue into 2014.

I'm okay with this combination, though it kinda destroys my headcanon about Dr Mario being a relative of Mario, opposed to Mario in another profession.
