Another game from Nintendo back in the day. Same with Tetris, I was hooked on it. I remember playing it for hours, with breaks of course. Since there was no code generated to save where we left off, we had to keep it on. My husband & I both got to quite high of scores.

Who has played this game? What newer game would be similar to Dr. Mario now?

I've played it! What were your scores? I could add them to our (Plus Nintendo 3DS Central's) leaderboards!

Puyopop reminds me of Dr. Mario! I remember play Dr. Mario on the original NES. This is one of my faves for sure!

My family has played this game along with the Tetris. Tetris was really big with my mom.

Mine too! Tetris was a pretty big deal with my family it's heavily tide to some of my fond memories as a kid. I remember my mom telling me to leave her alone and that it was her turn to play and I remember us laughing and just having a good time. I can't say that about any other game or console with the exception of maybe card games.

I've played the GBA NES game and the updated one with Puzzle League. You might be able to find it on NSO or maybe even on the N64 expansion in the future but there are games like Tetris 99, Puyo Puyo (with two versions), and Crystal Crysis to try out too but lack the viruses stuff I think. Very good game but it can feel like doing surgery and it's insane how bad I am between level 15 and the end.

I remember Tetris was one of those games where my mom and my older brother tried seeing who could get the farthest. I don't know if they did this with Dr. Mario as well.

It's very much the same in that sense. Most of the time instead of getting faster it can also mean you have more garbage pieces early on you have to remove by getting 4 in a row. So you have to think and react very fast, but with Tetris, the difficulty feels way harder on the higher levels and score conditions.
