read from CBR:

Toriyama gave up drawing manga due to losing his favorite wooden pen holder. This particular pen holder held great sentimental value to the artist, as he had purchased it when he was only 14 years old. He used this item for the entirety of his manga career until the release of Dragon Ball Super, which is drawn by Toyotarou and written by Toriyama. The loss of this precious drawing tool occurred during the production of Sand Land, the upcoming film adaptation of Toriyama's manga series of the same name.

"Sand Land was finished by scanning the inked paper manuscript into a computer and using software to apply solid colors to my own tones. I probably hardly slept at all..." Toriyama explained, "After finishing all the episodes, I lost my beloved wooden pen holder that I'd been using since before my debut. It was a pen holder that had become familiar to my hand for a long time, being carved and worn down with a knife and sandpaper...I bought a new pen holder and tried sharpening it this way and that, but it just didn't feel right. Since then, I have used it as an excuse for hardly drawing any manga. *laughs*"

And this tweet:

Akira Toriyama pen looks very unique and cool looking. I like how big the pen is. I wish there were more unique looking pens like Akira Toriyama pen.
