Square Enix announced today a final Japanese release date of July 17 for the DS remake of Dragon Quest V. The game will carry a tax-inclusive price point of 5,490, making it a few bucks higher than most DS titles.
It's likely that this will be another million seller for the platform. The Dragon Quest IV remake, released back in November, was one of Japan's top ten titles for the year and has, according to numbers released today by Square Enix, crossed the 1.15 million mark in domestic sales.
In addition to these two remakes, Square Enix has also announced a remake of part six in the series. And, of course, Dragon Quest IX is on the way as well. While Square Enix hasn't given a time frame for the DQIX release, developer Level-5 has said that it hopes to finish work on the game some time this year.
