The DS shows no signs of stopping its reign of terror over in Japan. The latest sales feat for the platform was made by the just-released DSi which, according to Famitsu publisher Enterbrain, topped the million mark last week.
According to Enterbrain, the system has, as of December 21, sold a total of 1,062,416 units. The system was originally released on November 1 and has been a tough find at retail since then.
Total sales for the DS platform stand at 24,859,874 units. With two weeks of sales left in the year, the DS will likely cross the 25 million mark. Not that it really needs to do this, as it surpassed the PS2 as Japan's best selling system of all time long ago.
On the 24th, Nintendo Japan will begin its DSi Ware download program. DSi Ware are playable exclusively on the DSi, so Nintendo is presumably hoping for a high DSi adoption rate in order for this program to be a success.
