With more and more language exposure, Crunchyroll is teaming up with the language learning platform Duolingo to expand its Japanese language course offering with a new set of immersive tutoring based around iconic anime phraseology.

With the course being offered as an addition to Duolingo’s broader Japanese offerings, the Crunchyroll collaboration is set to include a lineup of around 50 different anime slogans, catchphrases, and iconic dialogue from several different classic and contemporary anime series.

The phrases are set to represent a variety of series, but Naruto’s “Believe it!” and Vegeta’s iconic power-level read, “It’s Over 9000!” are confirmed as highlights. The context of these phrases is designed to play into Duolingo’s overall structure of helping language learners understand the grammatical context of these phrases. By knowing how they work on a language level, understanding these iconic lines might just make fans come to appreciate their uniqueness on an entirely new level.

In addition, the collaboration between Crunchyroll and Duolingo is complete with extra incentive for each platform’s base to try out the other. Premium paid subscribers to Crunchyroll are being offered a two-month free trial of Duolingo’s Super subscription, which offers the premium ad-free experience for all of Duolingo’s language tools across its entire language roster. Likewise, Duolingo subscribers specifically learning through their Japanese program are being offered eligibility for a free month of Crunchyroll’s premium subscription service.

Wow... That's great news.
It might be fun to learn Japanese now... Ugh... How I wish I have time at the moment (_ _)/

Sounds like a great way to learn context, but the problem is how many might forget the pronunciation after the service is done. Or things still might be taken out of context for new users.

I've always loved to learn languages. Dabbled a bit here & there with various ones. Not enough to become fluent, not by a long shot, but it was fun in the journey.

Duolingo is one of best language learning application I've seen and used. I'm not surprised they've teamed up with Crunchyroll to widen their reach.
