I think the Pros of earning something yourself are you learn how to save cash, a new job skill, a sense of acomplishment, and people won't stereotype you with a stupid names like "spoiled brat, gold digger, pigeon, sponge, moocher, free loader, etc" since it won't be true since you can't mooch from yourself.
A possible con is less time for fun and socializing.

I honestly feel better when I earn it myself, but usually don't take care of it as well.
I'm perfectly fine with getting lavish gifts (I'm really spoiled today I freaked out cause my parents gave me a 200 dollar shopping budget tomorrow *is mad*)
But yeah if I'm doing work or creating something I like when I do it myself. End of story. No edits. No censors. No comments. Just purely me.
