Emerald Remake coming out...?

Recently, Nintendo filed a trademark in Japan for the name "Pokemon Delta Emerald". We just learned about Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, GBA classics remade, and as Emerald is the third in the series, this trademark makes sense. This also makes sense as Emerald had a somewhat different storyline then Ruby and Sapphire. However, Nintendo has never remade the third game in the series (We see Crystal remake nor Yellow/Blue remake in the near future), but, as said before, Emerald was different then Ruby and Sapphire (So was Yellow, but as the old TV show was not being replayed often, Yellow didn't really need a remake).

Do you think this will start a trend of third game getting remakes? Will we be seeing a Platinum remake along with Diamond and Pearl remakes in the future? Will we be seeing Black 2 and White 2 remakes eventually? Is Delta Emerald really going to come out? And if so, what are your thoughts about it?

I got some additional information from:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/29/pokemon-delta-emerald-trademark-surfaces

My thoughts are that, yes, as Platinum had a different storyline, it will get remade. I'm not sure about Black 2 and White 2 (personally, I wouldn't like those games getting remakes). I believe that there might be Delta Emerald game, and if so, I'm extremely pleased.

I kinda called this one, it was so obvious. :p I don't think we'll be seeing remakes for Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum because we can still play those with our current systems and as you can see neither R/B/Y, G/S/C and even R/S/E are playable on a 3DS console.

But then we have reason to believe it might not happen, I mean gen 1 we only got remakes for Red and Green, gen 2 Gold and Silver and it seems most likely it'll be the same for this, I'm just saying but I could totally be wrong but it would break the pattern. :(

I'm thinking will probably remake D/P/P once the next gen handheld comes out, unless it is also compatible with DS games (though that's highly unlikely). And FireRed and LeafGreen, if following the motive that they shouldn't be made if the original games are still compatible on that console, shouldn't have been made as I still play Pokemon Blue on my Game Boy Advance SP (though I normally play it on my original Game Boy).

And, as said in my argument, Emerald is extremely different than Ruby and Sapphire in major plot, and G/S/C there wasn't much difference, and R/B/G/Y there was more difference, but not enough.

Emerald isn't any different from Ruby and Sapphire. Not from what I remember anyway. So I doubt they'll remake Emerald since they didn't remake Yellow or Crystal.

The Battle Frontier was in Emerald but not RS, as well as combining the stories of Aqua and Magma into one game.

I don't think there will be an Emerald remake, there is no need for it. Emerald added on stuff and improved Ruby and Sapphire. The Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire remakes can simply add on features/story elements from Emerald. If 'Delta Emerald' is going to be an improved version of ORAS, then not many people would want to buy ORAS.

Also this isn't anything new, they have trademarked other pokemon game titles in the past and these were never made into games. I think they are just trademarking it so that no one will take the name.

Yeah, according to Serebii:

This trademark registration is not likely to be indicative of a game release, but rather covering bases in a similar manner to the registration of Pokémon Water Blue back in 2004 and numerous other Pokémon names over the past 10 years including Pokémon Grey.
