Engineers at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) have created self-healing computer chips, so our machines will likely one day be able to repair themselves. Thus rendering us obsolete. Cool, self-healing computer chips mean no more need for the owner to replace expensive computer parts which failed, and are too hard for most owners to repair.
I see self-healing computer chips being good for the poor who can barely afford a computer, and might not have money saved for computer parts, and repairs can be very expensive.
I wonder could computer chips someday also change, and upgrade themselves to faster speeds, and more features by finding the best settings, tweaks, over clocks, firmware, and mods for faster performance as the user uses the computer, or by accessing the internet for information on how to improve its own performance automatically.
