kinda disappointed with this one. Looks basically like any number of platformers from the nineties. Not that that's a bad thing, but I was hoping for something a little more polished and up to date visually. Hopefully the addition of 3d effects and fluid animation will make all the difference.

Apparently it's a sequel in the 90s Mickey Mouse 'Castle of Illusion' series from the Genesis/Megadrive.

That looks awesome.

I really like the retro feel.

I love that style; I'm looking forward to seeing it in 3D. It'll be an interesting change from the entirely 3D world of the original Epic Mickey. We'll have the other sequel with that, though, which should also be pretty cool.

I have mixed feelings about them using more commonly known Disney characters than before (at least, it seems like they are). I kind of liked seeing older characters that I didn't know while I was playing the original.

I see your point. They're using the 1930s Mickey design, and mixing it with more modern characters like Beauty and the Beast. It's a bit of a clash, but that's probably inevitable. I think he fits in better with characters from the old short cartoons rather than the more recent feature movies.

I also would've preferred 3d platforming over sidescrolling. Seems like we already have so many sidescrollers on 3ds.

This probably won't look much different than if they did '3d classic' conversions of the old 'Castle of Illusion' games. Speaking of which, it seems likely that they'll at the very least try to get those into virtual console to captialise on the interest generated by this new release.
