11th quarter of decline, 20% drop on last year - Gartner
PC shipments in Western Europe declined for the 11th quarter in a row, and suffered the steepest drop on record in the first three months of 2013.
That's according to market watchers at Gartner. Some 12.3 million desktops and notebooks found a home during Q1 of this year - those platforms are not completely dead - but this represented a dive of 20.5 per cent on the same period in 2012, said the bean-counters.

I heard tablets, smartphones, and alternative computers like the Raspberry Pi Linux PC which cost $25-35 are selling very well.
I wonder, if more affordable computers and laptop use free alternative operating systems like Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Puppy Linux, Google Android, Google Chrome OS, and UNIX, would the decline be a lot less because I read the Raspberry Pi which is a $25-35 Linux PC, Google Android devices, and Google Chrome OS laptops are selling very well for new devices which been only out for a few years.
