The Fire TV Stick seems pretty good for a $40 TV stick device which can also play games. It's good to see that Amazon decided to design the Fire TV stick to play games well instead of just making it work well for video like the Roku, and Chromecast.
The Amazon Fire TV stick seem to run games pretty smoothly on it. I thought Castle of illusion, and Table Top Racing looks the best. The Fire TV stick also seem to have a lot of useful apps. While the device itself has HDCP, I was able to use my Xbox One as a passthrough and easily get some video recorded for the system. I'm amazed to see that this tiny stick can run something as nice as Castle of Illusion, and if you're an OUYA owner, the OUYA controller works perfectly for it - and the track pad even registers on-screen for menus.
I decided to try out some Sonic the Hedgehog, Castle of Illusion, and a couple of other games like the Outrun clone Final Freeway since only a small amount of my actual game library works on it. Still, I've got nearly 50 games that work on this, and on a trip or something, it's very handy. Compared to the GameStick, which is about the same size, this is a way better value and already has a much better game library.
