The PS3 lineup for the end of this year in Japan is pretty sparse. In fact, Sony Japan has been spending a surprising amount of time hyping up Western developed product like Heavenly Sword and Lair. Not a good thing when even critically acclaimed games like God of War have a tough time cracking the top ten.
But there's at least one game in the PS3's 1st party lineup with the chance of getting some attention from Japanese gamers. Just looking at the popularity of card-based games in Japanese arcades right now gives us the feeling that The Eye of Judgment will get some people looking at the PS3.
The game certainly seemed to be getting plenty of attention at the Tokyo Game Show this year, where lines to play were over an hour on the opening business days. Sony had the game set up in final form, using what appeared to be the same set that will be released to Japan next month. That includes the EyeToy, attached to a stand where it looks down upon a large cloth play mat, a starter deck consisting of 30 cards, and four command cards. All this in a box that would make you import, if the game wasn't due out first in America.
