At Microsoft's E3 2011 press conference Peter Molyneux revealed the next game in its action role-playing series. Fable: The Journey will utilize Kinect functionality for things like controlling horses while riding in a carriage, casting spells and swiping swords in melee combat.

Chances are high we'll get more details on this version of Fable as E3 2011 rolls on. This follows Fable III, released last year on Xbox 360 and earlier in 2011 on PC, and it's interesting that it isn't called Fable IV.

I heard Fable III failed. That's probably the reason they decided to stop the series of "Fable I, II, III" and then doing a IV.

I own Fable II and I just love the gameplay. The only problem is that once you finish the game, it starts getting boring and pretty much repetitive although they guaranteed it's different every time with the mood changing and all. I'll probably buy Kinect and the new fable if/when it comes out. :P
 
As a Fable fan this angers me.

I don't blame MS for trying to please the hardcore with Kinect. But using established franchise that are known for certain kinds of game play isn't the way to go about it. What they should have done was made a new IP if they wanted a Kinect hardcore game. This is going to push a good number of Fable fans away from the game.

Oh, OMG, IS THIS KINECT ONLY? if it is, microsoft can go die :(
 
I think Microsoft is banking a lot of its resources on Kinect as they think Kinect has a lot of potential to growth and conquer a brand new market (which is true).
So I wouldn't be surprised if this were meant to be for Kinect only.
 
Is this one of the serious games Microsoft is promising us for the Kinect? I hope so, I'm a big fan of the Fable series and anything Peter Molyneaux does. My favorite game of his is Populous 3.
 
I really hope I'm wrong in all this. But as a fan this isn't good news to me at all. Just imagine how drastic the game mechanics are going to change just to suit Kinect.
 
Another Fable game...

I couldn't even beat the first game, lol. Maybe because I don't have enough time on my hands to play it. Oh yes, that must be it, haha.
 
Fable is totally going to change. I bet gameplay will be easier as everything goes on Kinect. I don't like this AT ALL. Why the heck do they want to make "hardcore" games for Kinect, c'mon, Kinect is made for families.
