Yeah since 11:30AM EST it's due to a misconfig of Server that's what they are saying same with whatsapp and Instagram.

I think it's a good idea to take a break from social media once in a while, if you are an individual.
If you are someone that runs a business and you use social media to advertise your business, then I can see it being a drag.

Pity. So, some fun facts from this!
Any accounts tied to FB (games, oculus, ect.) were not able to sign in since FB was down (fail)
The keycard system for FB employees to even get in the FB building is tied to the servers so not even the workers could get in (epic fail)
and someone is most likely heading to the unemployment line tomorrow.

I wonder what the punishment will be for the workers who caused Facebook to go down.
I feel most people who use Facebook a lot would use Twitter, YouTube, forums, websites, and blogs while Facebook was down.

I can’t get a website active because people say they rather use Facebook then mine which is disappointing.
sites like this one I also prefer over Facebook.

It is unfortunate that people don't like smaller forums and blogs, and don't give them a try instead of mainly using Facebook for chatting online.
I also prefer Gaminglatest and other forums over Facebook because the community at Gaming Latest is more friendly, and there rarely is any spam and rude post on Gaming Latest.

100% I think people are brainwashed because Facebook isn’t even that good, the only reason Facebook even got the success it got was he stole the idea from his friend and plus timing because MySpace was having their own issues back then.
hopefully one day people return to forums.
I think forums will always have a place on the web...but people who have gotten used to the FP may never be converted to using forums exclusively. I think content is key... as admins I think it's important now more than ever to provide quality content that may not available on the fast pace of Facebook.
I wouldn’t call it brainwashed, more like it became the standard for people. The whole point of social media is to socialize with your friends/colleagues, so the site with the most people you know will naturally have people gravitate towards it. The same could be said for the opposite, if your friends aren’t using it, you’re not going to use it.
I use Facebook the most because all of my friends are on it and use it. Some of them use Twitter, but they don’t really do anything on it, so I don’t really use it. Then there was Google+ where I enjoyed the interface, but since nobody I knew used it, it was like why bother?
You do have a point there, I only use Facebook because all my family & friends are on it so I just stayed on the platform otherwise I wouldn’t be on it.
as for Twitter it’s only post updates for my site so I guess if a site got a purpose people will see it, That includes forums which are still relevant.
