Facebook and Twitter have joined a network called the First Draft Coalition that aims to help cut down the number of fake news on the internet.

The First Draft Coalition was formed in 2015 with the backing of Google.

The platform in which users can use to verify fake stories is expected to be launched by the end of October, so hopefully with the launch, fake stories circulating the internet will be lessened.

It seems like Facebook is now using First Draft Coalition Users to remove fake news rather than hiring their own editors.

I wonder would the users who verify fake news stories will get paid money for their work, or work for free like on websites like Wikipedia which people volunteer their free time to edit Wiki articles.

I agree fake news is fun when no one gets hurt, or scammed by the fake news.

I read on a blog that there were people getting pushed and stepped on because criminals posted fake news on Twitter, and Facebook which said there was a terrorist attack, and also showed fake photos of an attack on social networks.

But, it is annoying when sites post fake news about stuff like new unreleased products which look great, and latter find out that it is fake, or not what the buyers expected after pre-ordering and getting their game, gadget, or stuff in the mail.
