I finished another anime and this time it's one blu-ray anime set that I bought called Fafner in the Azure which I thought was a mistake to do. First off I must say this series has a lot of clone characters that you might mistake from the gundam seed series. I had one major problem with this series which I must tell you about, IT GIVES NO INFO!
Most anime start out with some kind of monolog back story or someone explaining what is going on. Not in this anime, they tell you nothing and you must simply learn and pick up on what their saying as the anime progresses. It wasn't till the end that I understood what they are saying or what is going on really, but this series seems popular so I guess this risk paid off.
Even though I had to learn what was going on this series does have a good cast of characters which by the end made me a fan of this series and I am now looking into getting the movie. Speaking of characters I really hate a lot of the clothing choices used in this anime, a lot of it don't look right IMO.
The music is very good in this series but the artwork doesn't seem all that well but that might be due to the fact I watched a SD blu-ray version of this show (Get the dvd if you can as blu-ray be a waste.) and the enemies were very interesting.
I say watch this if you got the time, but again you must be able to guess what is going on. So I highly recommend reading up much of this anime before actually watching it.

Description:
At the beginning of the story, much of the world has been destroyed by the Festum and the remote Japanese island of Tatsumiyajima. (Dragon Palace Island) has only remained unscathed by virtue of an advanced cloaking shield. The island's young people continue with their daily lives unaware of these events, but after many years of peace a lone Festum discovers Tatsumiyajima and attacks. The adults activate Tatsumiyajima's hidden defense systems and attempt to repel the attacker but to no avail. Many of them are killed by the Festum in a process of assimilation. In desperation, they order the deployment of a Mecha called the Fafner Mark Elf, but its pilot is killed en route to the hangar. Left with no further options, they send a young boy named Kazuki Makabe as the replacement pilot assisted by Soushi Minashiro from within the Siegfried System.
