'Family Guy' Song Parody Sued

The Family Guy makes its living off of nipping a little bit here and a little bit there from popular culture, so it's not surprising that they piss someone off every now and again. Still, you've got to be careful where you pick your targets, and when you cross anti-Semitism with Disney, you're gonna get burned. This is why The Family Guy is being sued by the copyright holder of "When You Wish Upon A Star," alleging that a song, "I Need A Jew," stole the tune from them.

The concern is over the anti-Semitic lyrics in the song, wherein Peter Griffin talks about how he needs a Jew to manage his money, because he's not good at doing it himself. Oh, the hilarity. Please, stop us before we laugh ourselves to death.

What a waste. The only reason they are suing is because of the lyrics used. That's pretty crappy. I hope they lose. I love Family Guy.

Disney is a bitch (we've dealt with them for our anime club), but it's not actually Disney that's suing, it's the guy that owns the rights to the song.

Yeah...Disney owned the rights to something we were trying to get permission to show at an upcoming convention that we are doing. They are a pain in the ass.

I'm not gonna say it's the best show in the world, but it's a damn good show. In the episode Lois Kills Stewie, they made fun of Jafar in a fictional movie Aladdin 4: Jafar May Need Glasses. I found the cutaway pretty funny. Disney's probably gonna try to sue them over Jafar, which is damn ridiculous. Almost every show you see makes fun of pop culture and most don't get sued. Disney's are like Metallica, they want rights to their own stuff to prevent people to use it in certain ways. It's a free country dammit, sh**.
