sourceThis year's E3 in Los Angeles will see the premiere of not just countless games, but also public access to the industry's biggest event.
According to a report on Polygon, between 4,000 and 5,000 fans will be granted invite-only access to the show floor. Full-access passes will be passed out by Entertainment Software Association member companies.
The report says that the number of passes given out is based on the size of a company's booth, so companies with a larger show presence, and therefore those with the largest monetary investment in the show, will have the most passes.
"Member exhibitors each have an allotment of some passes that they are permitted to distribute to their valued customers," ESA senior vice president of consumer and industry affairs Rich Taylor said.
The inclusion of hard-core fans at this year's event means E3 will see roughly a 10% increase in show attendance, the report states.
Of course, IGN will also be at E3, so if you're one of the lucky four or five thousand, you could very well bump into one or two editors on the floor.
Would you attend if you could?
