Many years ago, Hollywood was set on doing a Metriod movie that was due to air in 2006. But after the failure that was the Super mario bros movie, Nintendo was so hard to deal with that the movie kind of faded into darkness.

I think out of all Nintendo's characters, a metroid movie would be the only best movie.
 
It really would depend on who made it.

But to be honest I just don't think video game movies will ever be done to the fans liking.

To many hollywood big suits get their hands on it and want to change to much about it to make it appeal to the mainstream.

Just look at

Resident Evil
Silent Hill
Street Fighter

Till this day i still think the only video game movie that was done right that still caught what the fans loved was the first Mortal Kombat movie.
 
I disagree, I think the Resident Evil movies have been pretty good, to an extent...Silent Hill was good (but the sequel was shit), and the Street Fighter movies fall into the "so bad it's good territory" if you ask me.

Anywho:

Although a Metroid movie would be hard to execute, in the hands of an excellent director (I'm talking top shelf, cutting edge, world famous, here), it could turn out really well...

Then again, there is what happened to the Far Cry movie (Uwe Boll should be hanged for that alone).
